Trouble getting craft item Quotes
Ok, I'm very new to GW and have played long enough to get past pre-searing. When I visit a craft item vendor I can't get the quote screen to work. I drag a craft item from my inventory to the little box that says "place item here for quote" or something like that and nothing happens. The item does not drop into the box. I've tried just about everything except for the one thing that will work but I don't know that that would be. How do you get quotes for your craft items and sell them?

Ok, so I smacked my forhead hard for not trying that one but it too didn't work. However, I did discover something and that is I could drag certain crafting items to get a quote but not others. I think this is related to supply and demand and if there is no demand for the item, you can't get a quote. Is this so? If in fact this is how the interface works then it would be nice to see something to the effect of "No demand for that item".

I never had luck selling crafting materials in anything other than 10-unit bundles. Less than that and it never showed up in the box. More than that and it would only show 10 units.

I never noticed anything about "quotes" when talking to the crafter. Can someone explain what that is? (Is it just selling salvage items to the crafter instead of the merchant?)

The price you're offered varies depending on how may people are buying that item and how many people are selling it. Common items that many people don't use are cheap, while hard to find items or items with a lot of demand are more. Last night I was offered 10gold for a stack of 10 granite slabs, compared to 190gold for 10tanned hides. |

Does this apply to the pre-searing weapon/item crafter in Ascalon City? (Maybe that's why I don't recall seeing the Sell tab.) Or maybe I'm thinking of the crafter and you mean materials merchant, and I haven't seen that yet sinec I'm still pre-searing.
So, if I'm understanding, the craft and dye sellers are based on supply and demand. Do all merchants post-searing work that way? m19 Last edited by Morgan19; May 03, 2005 at 05:23 PM // 17:23.. |

By crafter he means materials merchant. You'll see them in post-searing. Totally different beastie from the crafters.
